The Trapani Film Festival has quickly become one of Sicily’s most vibrant cultural events.

Its first edition in 2023 was a dream transformed into reality, set against the magical backdrop of Casina delle Palme. A wave of curiosity swept through the city, drawing over 900 attendees and attracting more than 300 film submissions from around the world, welcomed by unforgettable guests.

The second edition in 2024, again in the same iconic location, doubled its audience and expanded its programming, with over 500 submissions, prominent Sicilian guests, and a new section dedicated to film education in schools.

In 2025, the Festival reinvented itself completely: Villa Margherita’s historic open-air theatre became its new home, offering 800 seats and hosting national and international talents, major concerts, and a full week celebrating cinema and beauty. In partnership with CNA Trapani, the University of Palermo, and Cineteatro Ariston, the third edition reached 3,000 attendees and received over 900 film entries.

New Look ... New Soul

Trapani Film Festival returns for its fourth year with a clear vision: back to its roots.

In response to recent cuts to the Italian film industry, the artistic direction has chosen to refocus on what defined the festival from the beginning — independent cinema. Bold voices, authentic storytelling, and creative freedom once again take center stage.

This return to origins does not forget our heritage. Our new logo reflects our roots, hope for the future, and the coral — symbol of our sea and the official award of the festival — representing resilience and beauty.

Now, as the team prepares the fourth edition for October 2026, the Festival is ready to evolve again: a groundbreaking year-long event, with monthly screenings of competing films leading up to the official celebration in October.

October 2026 is already here.

And we begin again — stronger, independent, and true to who we are.
